I have often encountered problems with multiple login with Yahoo messenger. Mostly this happens when any family member or my friends want to use my PC and they want to login to Yahoo via their username. I would just have to say no as my clients and my friends might come online anytime and I might miss something. I had been having this problem but recently one of my friend offer me this registry hack with which I can login using more than one username of Yahoo. At first I thought this might not work on yahoo but later I thought I should give it a try and to my surprise this tweak does work in my Windows XP.
Below is the simple process where you have to modify some registry value in your Windows Registry.
- Go to Start -> Run
- Type “regedit” (regedit = Registry Editor)
- Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_ USER\Software\yahoo\pager\Test
- On the right side, right click and choose “new Dword” value
- Rename it as “Plural”
- Double click it and assign a “decimal value” of “1”
- Exit registry
Now you are done. Just open the Yahoo messenger and login with your username. For multiple sign in, once again open the Yahoo messenger. Notice that this time two Yahoo messengers will open. You can view it in your taskbar as well.
